WHY THE BREATH?

Breathing is the first thing you do when you are born, the last thing you do before you die.  How you breathe impacts how you feel, move, and sleep.  Your breath influences your nervous system and overall well-being.  Many of us think about diet, exercise, and sleep.  Yet your breath has just as much impact on your overall health and performance.

You can use your breath to listen to and communicate with your unconscious body.   Your body develops patterns, including your default posture, emotional routines, and breathing style.  Some of these patterns may be helpful, others not so much.  Through breathing practices, you can increase your awareness of these patterns.  With each breath, you have the opportunity to repattern and change. 

WHY BALANCE?

Balance is a dynamic activity, always changing and responding to what’s happening around you.  This is true when you’re physically balancing on one leg.  It’s true inside your body as you experience thoughts and emotions.  No sensation or feeling is constant, they all come and go, increase and decrease in intensity.  Through awareness and movement, you can improve your physical sense of balance.  Through awareness and breathwork, you can improve your emotional, energetic, and physiological balance.
